The spice oil is made with the Greek basil “Artemis”, which the well-known Bach nursery in Vienna only cultivates for this oil. This variety can only be propagated well using cuttings.
The smell and taste are plump, warm and full but still fresh (this is what makes basil so attractive), slightly tart and peppery as well as cinnamon and “incense”.
It goes very well with: tomatoes, pasta dishes, antipasti, fish, white meat (chicken, pork), mushrooms, legumes and mild cheese as well as cream cheese, yogurt and whipped cream. Also with aubergines / aubergines, asparagus, carrots / carrots and zucchini or with chocolate with fruits such as strawberries or honeydew melons.
