Mortar for spices
In addition to a few spice mills and a mortar for saffron, a solid mortar belongs in every kitchen.
For dried and fresh spices. In principle, do not buy spices in ground form. If you grind / crush / pulverize yourself while cooking, you will get a lot more flavor. Spices such as caraway, fennel, black cumin, anise and coriander get a finer aroma if they are not ground but pounded in a mortar.
